I have a channel partner that mistakenly associated a Deal Registration with the wrong account. How do I change the assigned customer account?


Answer:

It's not possible to assign a Deal Registration to a different customer account, but you can reject or delete the Deal using the steps listed below and have the Partner resubmit the Deal with the correct customer account information.  


Reject a Deal:  Set the Deal's Registration Status to "Rejected (Closed)" by clicking the Actions button on the Deal's Details page > Change Registration Status & Assignment > Rejected (Closed).

If the Deal is already linked to an existing Opportunity or Lead in Salesforce, you'll need to unlink them.  You can unlink the records by clicking the Salesforce button on the Deal's details page > Unlink. You may also want to close or delete the Lead or Opportunity that the Deal was linked to in Salesforce.

Delete a Deal: The second option is to delete the Deal yourself in the Actions menu, then ask your Partner to submit the Deal again with the correct customer information. If the Deal is linked to a Lead or Opportunity in Salesforce, you'll want to unlink the record before deleting it.

Once you've deleted or rejected the Deal in Channeltivity and unlinked it from a Lead or Opportunity in Salesforce, have the Partner resubmit the Deal with the correct customer account information.
