When you assign a Lead to a Partner User in Channeltivity, they will immediately receive an email notification. You can configure these notifications under Settings > Lead Distribution > Lead Email Notifications.
The email does not include specific Lead details to encourage Partners to log into your portal to view the Lead's details. You can learn more about this topic in this article: Why are the Lead details hidden from the Partner until they open the Lead?.
Lead Email Notification
This approach not only drives engagement but also allows you to track whether the Partner has viewed the Lead, as the Lead's Status will change from Unopened to Opened once the Partner logs into the portal and views the Lead.
Status-Opened Lead
Once the User opens the Lead, they can take the following actions:
- View/update the Lead's details by clicking the "Edit" button in the top right.
- Use the "Convert to Deal Registration" button to convert the Lead to a Deal Registration, which will update the Lead's Status from Open to Converted to Deal and prompt the User to complete the Lead to Deal conversion process.
- Use the "Actions" menu to:
- Reassign the Lead to another User within their Organization.
- Close the Lead by setting it to Lost if there is no potential business opportunity, which will update the Lead's Status from Open to Closed Lost.
- Close the Lead by setting it to Won without converting it to a Deal Registration (if the Lead Distribution Module Settings are configured to allow for it), which will update the Lead's Status from Open to Closed Won.
You can then use the "Status" filter and column on the Leads lister page to report on Leads by Status to identify Opened, Unopened, Closed Won/Lost, and Converted Leads.
