This article gives step-by-step setup instructions of Channeltivity’s Lead Distribution integration with Salesforce. An overview of Channeltivity’s Lead Distribution Salesforce Integration can be found in this article.


  1. Log into Salesforce.com CRM as an Admin
  2. Go to Setup -> App Setup -> Customize -> Leads -> Fields
  3. Create a custom checkbox field "Export to Channeltivity" or similar. This will be the flag that marks the Lead for export into Channeltivity.
  4. If you want to be able to import Opportunities from Salesforce as well, create an identical checkbox custom field for the Opportunity record as well by going to Setup -> App Setup -> Customize -> Opportunities -> Fields.
  5. Log into Channeltivity as an Administrator and go to Settings > Salesforce Integration
  6. If you haven't done so already, make sure to enter your Salesforce Integration Credentials.
  7. If your credentials are valid, the Lead Distribution configuration section becomes available. Click on it:

  8. Set the Lead Distribution to "Import Only":


9. If you're only importing Leads from Salesforce, scroll down to the Import Rules section and select "Export to Channeltivity" from the dropdown menu. 


If importing Leads and Opportunities from Salesforce, check the Opportunity checkbox and select "Export to Channeltivity" for the Lead and Opportunity dropdown menus. 


10. The Salesforce Lead to Channeltivity Lead field mappings determine which Lead fields get imported and where the data gets stored in Channeltivity. The field mappings section will display the Salesforce Lead fields on the left and the Channeltivity Lead fields on the right. The standard fields are already mapped, but you can additional mappings. 


To create a new mapping, click the “Add Mapping” button, then select a field from the Salesforce dropdown menu. You'll then select the corresponding field from the Channeltivity dropdown menu. 



If the field does not yet exist in Channeltivity, you can create it in Channeltivity by clicking the “Create New Field” button.


If you are also importing Salesforce Opportunities, you'll need to switch to the Salesforce Opportunity to Channeltivity Lead tab to define your field mappings. The Opportunity import pulls Salesforce data not only from the Opportunity record type, but it also includes the linked Account and Primary Contact in Salesforce as well. 


11. Once your import mappings are in place, you can now map fields from Channeltivity back to the originating record in Salesforce. This allows you to push changes made to selected fields in Channeltivity back into the Salesforce Lead or Opportunity. We recommend mapping fields that show Partner-related or Lead status information only. If you're unsure, don't create any export mappings until your needs are more defined.


To create your export mappings, switch to the Channeltivity Lead to Salesforce Lead/Opportunity field mapping tabs and click the "Add Mapping" button.


12. Once all your mappings are complete, press the "Save" button at the very bottom of the page to finish the setup process. Depending on the details of your Salesforce configuration, the saving process can take up to 30 minutes. Besides saving your configuration, the saving process will also create a number of custom Salesforce fields used by Channeltivity and add them to your Salesforce layouts:

  • Salesforce Lead custom fields required by Channeltivity:

    • Channeltivity Last Update (Ctvt_Sys_LastUpdated__c, Date/Time)

    • Channeltivity Status (Ctvt_Sys_EntityType__c, Text(255))

    • Channeltivity URL (Ctvt_Sys_URL__c, URL(255))

    • Exported to Channeltivity (Ctvt_Sys_Exported__c, Date/Time)

    • Export to Channeltivity (Export_to_Channeltivity__c, Checkbox)

  • Salesforce Opportunity custom fields required by Channeltivity:

    • Channeltivity Last Update (Ctvt_Sys_LastUpdated__c, Date/Time)

    • Channeltivity Status (Ctvt_Sys_EntityType__c, Text(255))

    • Channeltivity URL (Ctvt_Sys_URL__c, URL(255))

    • Exported to Channeltivity (Ctvt_Sys_Exported__c, Date/Time)

    • Export to Channeltivity (Export_to_Channeltivity__c, Checkbox)


13. When the setup process is complete, you will be redirected to the Salesforce Integration Settings page and you can start importing Leads and Opportunities from Salesforce using Channeltivity's managed Salesforce package.


You can also mark Leads and Opportunities for export in Salesforce and import them into Channeltivity by going to Lead Distrubituion > New > Import Leads from Salesforce.
