***Before you get started creating Courses and adding your content, remember to update your Groups to include Training & Certification Module access.***


Creating Training Courses


To create a Training Course:

  1. Click the Training & Certification module in the left navigation menu.
  2. Click the New Course button.
  3. Enter the Course details. (Course Name, Details, Permissions)
  4. Set the Course Availability to one of the following: 
    • Users complete this Course in Channeltivity -This option allows Users to complete Lessons, Quizzes, and Learning Modules (training materials in SCORM format) within Channeltivity.
    • Users complete this Course outside of Channeltivity  - This option is used to track training activity that occurs outside of Channeltivity such as in-person training or training completed in an external LMS.  Users will not be able to complete the Course within Channeltivity, so the Course Completions will have to be awarded manually. 
  5. Set Permissions
  6. Click Save.

With the Training Course detail completed, the next step is to add Course Content.


Creating Lessons 


To create a Lesson:

  1. Click on a Course to start adding content.
  2.  Click the New button. 
  3. Select "New Lesson."
     
  4. Update the name and details for the Lesson. 
  5. Click Save.

With the Lesson created, the Lesson's content can be added.


Click into the Lesson to get to the Lesson details page:

  1. Click the New button.
  2. Select the content type that applies to your Training material.
  3. Name your Training and upload the corresponding material.

Creating Quizzes

 

To create a Quiz:

  1. From the Course Content screen, click the New button.
  2. Select "New Quiz."
  3. Enter a title, summary, and description.
  4. Add a passing score (percentage).
  5. Choose to randomize the order of the quiz questions and/or answers. You can also choose to have the system display a random subset of questions when Users take the Quiz (randomize from a pool of questions). 
  6. Click Save.

After you save your changes, click on the Quiz to start adding your questions:

  1. Click the "New Question" button to create a question.


  2. Enter the question's title, and if needed, you can add text, images, and links to the Additional Details section. 
  3. Click the "Add Answer" button to add multiple-choice options and select the checkbox (select only one) for the correct answer. 
  4. Click Save and repeat until all questions have been added.

Adding SCORM Content (Learning Module) 


Channetivity's Training & Certification module is SCORM compliant. If you are currently using or plan to invest in SCORM content, please contact us to enable the Learning Module for your portal. We'll also provide details about the tiered pricing structure for SCORM registrations (see FAQs below). 



Once enabled, training materials in SCORM format can be added to Courses using Learning Modules.


To create a Learning Module:

  1. From the Course Content screen, click the New button.
  2. Select "New Learning Module."
  3. Upload a SCORM, AICC, cmi5, or xAPI file in ZIP format and update the title, summary, and description fields > Save.

Once you've added your Lessons, Quizzes, and Learning Modules, the Course can be published to Partners. 


Publishing Courses 


To Publish a Training Course:

  1. Select the Training Course by clicking the name.
  2. Click Actions at the top right.
  3. Click Set Publish Status: Published.

FAQs


What are SCORM Registrations? 


A SCORM registration is when a User accesses a Course containing a Learning/SCORM module for the first time. Your subscription includes 50 SCORM Registrations per month, and this count resets every month. Additional registrations can be purchased at the start of a new billing cycle, or if you experience higher than anticipated registrations, the additional costs will be applied to the following invoice.
