With the Dynamics 365 Organization Sync activated, creating Partner and Distributor Organizations (or Users/Contacts) in Channeltivity will automatically create corresponding linked Accounts and Contacts in Dynamics, and vice versa. These records will remain linked and synchronized between the two systems.
Your Organization Sync field mappings allow you to define how data flows between Partner/Distributor Organizations and User/Contact records in Channeltivity and the corresponding Accounts and Contacts in Dynamics whenever records are created or updated.
This article explains how to set up mappings and the different mapping options. For more information on the Dynamics 365 Organization Sync, check out the following articles:

To access your Organization Sync field mappings, navigate to Settings > Dynamics 365 Integration > Organization Sync. Then, scroll down the page to view the list of field mappings.
In the left column, you'll see your Channeltivity Organization and User/Contact fields. In the right column, you'll see the corresponding Dynamics 365 Account and Contact fields.
Each mapping consists of a Channeltivity field and a Dynamics 365 field, connected by a button with directional arrows. These arrows indicate the data flow/sync direction for each field mapping.
To create a new mapping, click the "Add Mapping" button, and to update an existing mapping, click the arrow button between the two mapped fields.
Types of Field Mappings:
There are two types of field mappings:
- Field to Field
- Fixed Value to Dynamics 365 Field - populate a Dynamics 365 field with a constant value
When creating "Field to Field" mappings, you select the fields in Channeltivity and Dynamics dropdown menus that you want to map.
If the field does not yet exist in Dynamics, you can create it by typing the name of the field you wish to create in Dynamics > Create new Field.
By default, new field mappings will sync bi-directionally, but you can select the "Advanced Mode" checkbox to reveal other data flow options.
NOTE: The Advanced Mode feature can also be used to update the data flow for existing field mappings.
"Fixed Value" field mappings can be used to populate a field on the Account or Contact in Dynamics with a constant value. For example, you can have Channeltivity set a field to a specific value every time it creates a new Account in Dynamics.
Field Mapping Data Flow Options:
You can use the key below to help identify the sync direction and data flow of your field mappings. Some general rules apply:
- Buttons are white by default. If you select the "Advanced mode" for the mapping, the button will be light yellow.
- A single arrow indicates that field data flows in the same direction when a record is Created (initial sync) and Updated (changes).
- When there are multiple arrows on the button, the top one indicates the data flow when a record is Created. The bottom arrow shows how field data flows when records are Updated.
- Bi-directional data flow (Two-Way Sync): This is the default for new mappings.
- Created: Channeltivity and Dynamics data are pushed during the initial sync/creation of the record.
- Updated: Any changes made in either system will flow into the other during a sync.
- Data flows in both directions for the initial sync/creation of the record, and one way after the initial sync/creation of the record.
- Created: Channeltivity and Dynamics data are pushed during the initial sync/creation of the record.
- Updated: Updates made to the field in Channeltivity are pushed to Dynamics after the initial sync, making Channeltivity the master on future syncs.
- Data flows in one direction.
- Created: Channeltivity data flows into Dynamics when the record is created in Dynamics.
- Updated: Updates made to the field in Channeltivity are pushed to Dynamics, making Channeltivity the master on future syncs.
